Women's Colleges and Universities with Engineering Programs
    Women's Colleges and Universities

Womens' colleges and universities in engineering are based on the fact that students thrive in different environments and learn in different ways. That's why women's colleges and universities are still around today. Women and men haven't always had equal access to higher education in America; women's colleges have therefore played an important role in bringing about educational equality and providing options for women. In fact, they still do! The development of women's colleges in the US goes back to the early 1800's, and while their numbers declined after many institutions went co-ed in the 1970's, the more than 50 women's colleges still in operation continue to offer a unique learning environment dedicated to helping students realize their potential.

Women's colleges and universities may be public or private, secular or church-affiliated, four-year or two-year, and they offer many of the same programs as co-ed universities and colleges. However, they also offer distinctive women-centered curricula and learning methods as well as the resources to help women pursue--and master!--subjects in which they have been traditionally underrepresented, such as law, math computer science and of course engineering! Engineering programs include many majors and lead to a wide variety of career opportunities. Women's colleges and universities make sure their students have the skills, knowledge and confidence they need to compete in this exciting field.

So if you're looking for engineering programs with a difference--the difference being that your success is the main goal!--then be sure to find out what's available at women's colleges and universities with engineering programs!
