The College of Engineering Technology (CET) at Ferris State University (FSU) offers over 40 degree programs in engineering, engineering technology, and technology. Each program emphasizes strong theoretical education reinforced through extensive laboratory practice, and industrial and professional exposure. A large selection of dual degreed, minor and certificate options are available. Numerous programs include paid internship experience and all programs demonstrate excellent graduate placement rates. CET students enjoy opportunities to participate in several national competitions; along with one or more of the college's very active student societies and professional organizations. The CET has five technology buildings, including the Automotive Center, Construction Technology Center, Heavy Equipment Center, Swan Technical Center and National Elastomer Center for Plastics and Rubber Technology, which was created to fulfill a growing industrial need for plastics and rubber engineering technologists. The CET buildings contain a total of 600,000 square feet of laboratory space, where students can make use of professional-grade tools and facilities. These include CAD/CAM software and equipment, laser cutting and welding, a fully equipped model-making facility and comprehensive design testing lab. The National Construction Technology and HVACR Center upgraded its facilities.
